Handover Ceremony of KIAS-AL-AZHAR Muadalah Program Students
Nasr City, October 13, 2024 – The handover ceremony for students of the KIAS-AL-AZHAR Muadalah Program was held at the Tengku Mahkota Hall at around 10:30 PM Egypt time.
The event was attended by accompanying students of the KIAS-AL-AZHAR Muadalah Program, including YABrs. Prof. Dr. Mazlan Bin Ibrahim, Rector of KIAS, and Ustaz Mohammad Jawwad Bin Md Yusnan, Director of the KIAS Center for International Cooperation (CENTRIK), as well as Ustaz Che Khairulaffendy Bin Che Kamaruzaman, Education Attaché Officer of Kelantan, and Ustaz Nawi Bin Saleh, Deputy Education Attaché Officer of Kelantan.
The ceremony began with welcoming remarks from the Education Attaché Officer of Kelantan, emphasizing the “3Js” to the newly arrived students in Egypt: “Jami’” (mosque), “Jamiah” (university), and “Jam’iyyah” (association). These “3Js” are constantly emphasized to students as they are fundamental in producing knowledgeable students who practice what they learn, and they reflect the image of a religious student who balances Islamic studies with the rights and responsibilities of a Muslim.
Additionally, students were encouraged to support one another, acting as a family while being far from their homeland and loved ones.
The ceremony continued with a speech and guidance from the Rector of KIAS, who reminded the KIAS-AL-AZHAR Muadalah Program students to make the most of their two-year stay in the land of the Prophets and to take advantage of the recognition granted by Al-Azhar University.
Prayers were offered with the hope that these students will be able to pursue their studies diligently and eventually return to contribute beneficially to society.
